What the SPSC CCE 2026 amendment changes

This is an amendment notice, not a new vacancy round. It opens no new posts and adds no new vacancy count. Instead, it revises four points from the earlier advertisement. These are the age limit, the attempts, the screening test marking, and the last date.

The table below puts the old and new positions side by side where the notice states them. For the screening test qualifying mark, however, the notice prints two figures. That row therefore carries a caution rather than a single clean figure.

Point Position after the amendment
Upper age limit for CCE 33 years
Minimum age 21 years, with no change
Permitted attempts 5 attempts, for three years, replacing the three-attempt condition in paragraph 3, note, of Advertisement 04/2026
Screening test negative marking 0.25 marks deducted for each wrong answer
Screening test qualifying mark Notice prints 33% (66 marks); earlier 40% (80 marks) figure described as amended. Confirm the final figure on the official SPSC notice

Age limit and number of attempts

The upper age limit for the Combined Competitive Examination is now 33 years. At the same time, the notice leaves the lower age limit untouched, so candidates must still be at least 21 years old.

The number of permitted attempts also rises, because the notice raises it from three to five attempts for a period of three years. As a result, a candidate who had already used the earlier attempt limit gains room under the new rule. A first-time candidate starts with the same five-attempt ceiling.

Screening test marking

The screening test now carries negative marking, so each wrong answer costs 0.25 marks. Candidates should therefore weigh every guess, because a wrong answer reduces the total score instead of simply scoring zero.

On the qualifying mark, the notice needs careful reading: it prints 33% (66 marks). It also describes the earlier 40% (80 marks) figure from paragraph 7, note 1, as amended. For that reason, this article does not present one of those figures as the settled cut-off on its own. Instead, check the final qualifying mark on the official SPSC notice before you plan around it.

If you already applied under Advertisement 04/2026

You do not need to submit a fresh application, because the notice says applications already made will be processed under the revised conditions. In other words, your earlier application stays valid, and the new age and attempt rules apply to it.

Before the last date, however, log in to the online portal and check your application. The notice allows existing applicants to upload documents or correct mistakes in the application. Use that window rather than waiting until the final day.

If you are a new applicant

New candidates may apply online, provided they meet the revised conditions and all other conditions of Advertisement 04/2026. The amendment therefore reopens the door for candidates who became eligible under the new rules. It also helps candidates who simply had not applied earlier.

For example, a candidate who was over the earlier upper age limit but is within 33 years can now apply. That application still depends on every other condition in the earlier advertisement. Similarly, a candidate who had exhausted the earlier attempt limit may now fall within the five-attempt rule.

How to apply for SPSC CCE 2026 under the amendment

Applications go through the online portal, and the amendment notice sets Wednesday, 11 November 2026 as the last date. No apply button is linked in this article. What stays the same

All other conditions of Advertisement 04/2026 remain in force, so the amendment changes only the points listed above. Candidates should therefore read the earlier advertisement alongside this amendment, because qualifications, conditions and other rules still come from that earlier notice.

This amendment notice itself gives no post names, vacancy count, fee or syllabus, so this article adds none of those details. For general SPSC openings, see SPSC Jobs 2026 Sindh.

Last date and next step

The last date for online applications is Wednesday, 11 November 2026. Existing applicants should log in and correct or complete their application before that date. New applicants should submit before that date and keep proof of submission.

After that date, the next step is the screening test, subject to the marking rules in this amendment. Before the test, confirm the final qualifying mark on the official SPSC notice. The amendment notice carries both the 33% and the earlier 40% figures.
